Located in Beacon, New York and overlooking the majestic Hudson River, the Mount Beacon Incline Railway is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is owned and preserved by Scenic Hudson in its Mount Beacon Park. The focus of a concerted volunteer restoration effort, this funicular operated from 1902 to 1978 and was tragically destroyed by fire in 1983.
